New children’s autoimmune disorder?

One third of children with celiac disease (1 in 10 adults too) have disrupted tool enamel development. Now their teeth are sensitive to heat, cold and sour food and often decay faster. Further work is ongoing but k-casein protein, added to dairy products, has been identified as an early potent immunogen for kids. These findings could have implications for the food industry.

Munchausen by proxy: what you need to know

Under the umbrella of factitious disorders, MSP is a group of mental disturbances that includes patients intentionally acting physically or mentally ill to seek attention and empathy without symptoms. Those with Munchausen Syndrome commonly have unnecessary and often painful intervention. Up to 70% who falsify illness in their children do so in themselves as well.

Wheelchair travel newsletter opens the world

A great tool for travel buffs. This is an informative website and newsletter by John Morris whose life was changed by a car accident in 2012. Before his triple amputation, John was a traveler so, when he found his first trip as a disabled person difficult, he set about helping other wheelchair travellers. In 2023, Morris took 115 flights and explored 12 countries!
